Shaping how I can support the team and help it scale

Why it matters

Much of Africa's early cinema is at risk of being lost, and with it a record of how people saw themselves and their world. African Cinema Classics, the passion project of Gywaimen Kassim, keeps that heritage alive by writing about it, screening it and bringing people together around it.

I see it becoming more than a look back. It could be a pipeline for Africa's cinema classics, old and new: keeping the films that shaped the past in view, while helping the next generation of classics get developed, told and shared with new audiences.

Stories told well are part of how people and places flourish.
